60-year-old man struck, killed while crossing Missoula road

Officials say a 60-year-old man was hit and killed by two cars while crossing a road on the south side of Missoula, according to police reports released Wednesday.

The guy was crossing Russell Street shortly before 6 p.m. when the incident occurred. Lydia Arnold, a police spokesman, confirmed the incident on Tuesday. Although one automobile swerved to avoid striking him, the victim was hit by two other cars heading along Russell Street. He passed away on the scene.

Arnold said that the drivers of the cars involved had agreed to cooperate with the inquiry. There have been no arrests made.

The identity of the guy has not been revealed.
