Missing Montana man killed in crash in Idaho, police say
According to Idaho State Police, a motorist who died in a vehicle accident in Boise County on Friday night has been confirmed as a missing Montana man.
Michael Edward Lopez of Missoula, Montana, has been identified as the driver of the single-car rollover collision on State Highway 21, according to KBOI-TV.
Lopez, 71, was driving south when his truck veered off the road and tumbled down a steep slope, according to police. He died on the spot.
A private aircraft crew aided the Boise County Sheriff’s Office in searching the region when Lopez’s mobile phone pinged a nearby cell tower.
Lopez went missing on November 10 after leaving Missoula for Caldwell, Idaho.
The Idaho State Police are still investigating the event.
